Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I download my Fooman extensions and updates?
You can download your extensions and available updates at any time from the My Account section on the Fooman website. Login, then click on "Your Extensions" and follow the link to download the new file. You can then reinstall the extension on the domain it is registered for. You can also access the latest version of the instructions and user manual (if applicable) from the instructions tab of each extension listing on our website.
Where can I find support for free Fooman extensions?
There's been more than 100,000 downloads of our open source extensions, and to be able to make our free extensions even better, we have to be really, really careful about how we spend our time. We're not in a position to provide one-to-one guidance on how to use or set up extensions, or diagnose and guide you through troubleshooting issues.
Please check out the comprehensive free resources provided for each extension. You can find these attached to your order confirmation email (if you downloaded the extension(s) through our website), or follow the link on the Magento Connect listing (if you downloaded via Magento Connect).
Feel free to notify us about a bug report! Someone on the team will process it and we'll add it to our roadmap. We may contact you if we have an immediate fix or a workaround, but we can't respond to every report that comes in.
I have previously purchased a Fooman extension and want to update to the latest version. Do you offer a discount?
We offer a 25% discount for existing customers which have reached the end of their 12 month free update period to re-purchase the same extension (the new purchase also provides a further 12 months of free updates). Please contact our support team at email@example.com with your original order number to request this discount.
Why do I need to create an account to complete my order?
Creating an account allows you to download your extensions and available updates at any time from the My Account section of our website. This is required for both free and paid Fooman extensions.
I have placed an order by international bank transfer. When can I expect to receive my extension?
International bank transfers can take up to 1 week to be processed by banks. When payment clears in our account, you will receive an email with a link to download your extension(s). If you have still not received your extension after 1 week, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
How does the 30 day money back guarantee work?
The 30 day money back guarantee applies to all paid extensions - try the extension for yourself and see how it works on your site. If you are unhappy with the extension for any reason in the first 30 days, simply contact email@example.com to request a refund. Please note that refunds are made in New Zealand Dollars and do not apply to installation or customisation charges.
Can I install a Fooman extension on multiple domains using the same license?
If the domains are part of the same Magento multi store set up, this is covered by a single license. If the domains are not part of a Magento multi store set up, a separate license must be purchased for each domain.
Can I install Fooman extensions on test site?
You can install our extensions on any test/staging site associated with the main domain for which the extension was purchased - this is covered under the main license.
I have forgotten my login details. How can I access my account?
Please contact our support team at firstname.lastname@example.org to have your login details sent to you and password reset. Include your email address or the URL for which your extension was purchased in the email.
How can I cancel my subscription to Fooman Connect: Xero or Vend?
Please contact us at email@example.com to cancel your subscription.
What is GST, and is it chargeable for international customers?
GST is New Zealand sales tax and is chargeable to New Zealand customers only. When an overseas billing address is entered during checkout, GST will not be charged.
Why is final payment shown in New Zealand Dollars?
All costs on our website in foreign currency are estimates based on a current exchange rate. Final payment for Fooman extensions is always taken in New Zealand Dollars ($NZD).
Do Fooman extensions work on Magento Go?
The Magento Go platform is unfortunately more restrictive and completely different to Magento Community/Enterprise. 3rd party developer access is very limited and extensions such as ours are not supported on Magento Go.
We need to be able to set order status for a batch of orders to complete and send customer an email saying goods dispatched. Can Order Manager do this?
We generally advise our customers to set up their order workflow without the use of Order Manager first. This usually means having to process each order individually. Once this behaves as intended, then add Order Manager to speed things up.
A typical order status workflow in Magento looks like this:
1. The status of an incoming order is mostly influenced by the payment method used. Some have this as a configurable option, some don’t
2a. Again depending on payment method an invoice for a new order might be created automatically or not. Creating the invoice most often would move an order from new (or pending payment) to processing
2b. Shipping items on an order which has not yet been invoiced would also move the order to status processing
3. Magento automatically marks an order complete once all items have been shipped and invoiced
Magento allows you to send email notifications once an order, invoice or shipment is created. If the order and/or invoice email is sent is again dependent on the payment method implementation.
A common use case for our Order Manager extension is to mass ship (and less often so mass invoice since this is already done by the payment method automatically). The actions can be configured to send the notification email including any tracking numbers entered en masse.
Do you accept Paypal?
Yes, we do! The Paypal payment option shows automatically at checkout and incurs a 3.9% surcharge.
