Fooman Advanced Promotions

Promotions are one of the main ways to generate revenue on an Ecommerce store. Out of the box Magento has many decent promotions that can be run, but it does limit what you can do. This promotion engine allows you to have more flexibility in your promotions, targeting specific items where you have the margin to discount or to shift specific stock. Without this extension your promotions are limited to broad groups of products or categories. Improve your profit margin by implementing promotions that drive high margin transactions.

• Buy 3 Items from Category X for Amount Y
• Buy Two get the Third for half price
• Buy One Item X from category Y and get One Item of the same color free from category Z

All rules automatically multiply correctly and will discount starting with the cheapest item.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a separate license for installing the extension on a test server?
No. You can install the extension on any test/development/staging server associated with the live site you purchased the license for.

Can free items be automatically added to the cart?
Yes, if the free item is a simple product with no required options. Alternatively the advanced rules can be set up so that the customer can choose the free item - ie a small red t-shirt.

I already have extension X installed which adds a new promotion type. Can Advanced Promotions be run simultaneously?
Running a different promotions extension at the same time as Advanced Promotions is not recommended.

Can Advanced Promotions run promo XYZ?
This extension was built with the express purpose to offer a whole lot more flexibility and I hope to have covered a lot of conceivable promotions. However it is marketing people's job to be creative so get in touch via the questions button to ask specifics.
